Blue Opal Stack Earrings
Opal is the birthstone of October, and the stone that celebrates the 14th anniversary of marriage. The name opal is believed to be derived from the Sanskrit word upala (उपल), which means 'jewel', and later the Greek derivative opállios (ὀπάλλιος), which means 'to see a change in color'
These are made from beautiful blue Opal which falls in the 'common opal' grouping.
Precious opal displays a play-of-color or iridescence. Common opal does not. Play-of-color is defined as "chromatic optical effect resulting in flashes of colored light from certain minerals, as they are turned in white light."
These beautiful stack earrings are hung on 925 stamped hooks and have a gem drop of just over an inch each. Please remember that the picture is for reference only, since all gemstones are natural they will differ in colour, size and shape.
